"Excellent hotel, very clean and lovely decor, food is second to none. Wonderful breakfast which has a fantastic selection and help yourself. Would definately stay there again. Although situated at Scotch Corner it is extremely quiet and a great location for the north.
Room boasts a fridge with complementary drinks, a safe, en suite was excellent, lovely shower and very clean."

"“A1 Scotch Corner Jem!!!”"
"After having traveled the world and eaten out all over, I was not expecting much from a hotel chain..BUT...
If you are traveling up the A1 and need to stop off midway on your journey, then you NEED to stop off here for food...
The roast beef dinner I had on Sunday was one of the best I have ever had, without question. The Beef was presented rare and the veg was on the right side of undercooked. The Yorkshire pudding was missing at the table but was quickly presented within 1 minute of the main meal being delivered.
The salt and pepper squid starter, was a typical 'deep fried' affair and I honestly think the restaurant could do much better with its starters in comparison to the main courses.
Given the above, I would happily drive to this destination for food, even if I lived 10 miles away.

"This hotel has now been taken over by IHG and is now on my stop over list for the north east. Room are well decorated and the food is also great. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast here is also well ran and plenty to choose from at the buffet style. All in all a good choice for the area."

"Spent New years eve there, had a lovely meal in the restaurant and then spent the rest of the evening in the function room to see new year in, can say the restaurant food was amazing and the staff were polite and friendly. Would recommend to everybody to try."

"Stayed here on the 27th for 1 night to attend a wedding at nearby Middleton Lodge,Hotel has been refurbished to a good standard all rooms nice and modern with plenty of space,fridge in room with water and fruit juice at no cost,all staff from front desk to bars really polite and helpful, had food in the bar only but that was really nice and fresh,didn't have breakfast but was told by our friends that is was of good standard.Health club attached which you can you use free of charge. All in all great place to stay and would definitely recommend this hotel."
